Property tax levy deadline extended

On the occasion of the ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court of 10.4.2018.
(1 BvL 11/14) and the associated property tax reform, more than 30 million land and property owners were requested to submit a property tax return (assessment return) in spring 2022.
Submission deadline extended
The submission deadline began on July 1, 2022 and was originally limited to October 31, 2022. Experts repeatedly criticized this short submission deadline of three months. It applied equally to advised and unadvised declarants. Since a large proportion of the declarations to be submitted had not yet been received by this deadline, the Federal Ministry of Finance has now extended the submission deadline by a further three months to Jan. 31, 2023.
